The Importance of Meditation

When we meditate we have the opportunity to tap into, and become in tune with, our Unlimited Self.

Meditation assists us to relax the thinking mind, become present to the moment, and drop deeper into our subconscious mind which is the doorway to our True Divine Nature; the part of us that is connected to the Universal field of pure unlimited Potential.

I was introduced to meditation around age 8, learnt my first meditation technique at age 12 and then at age 19 I started a more formal meditation practice including conscious breath and mantra.

My meditation practice has changed over the years, using different techniques, lengths of practice and time of day. It’s been an ever evolving journey but it’s something that I find is an essential part of my day and assists me in so many ways... including physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually, creatively and so much more.

I find regularity with meditation is a key for me, it assists me to practice quieting my mind, and the stream of constant thoughts, and helps me tune into, and hear, my intuition which is directly connected to my Unlimited Self.

I find mornings are the best time for my practice, as I love starting my day in this field of unlimited possibilities. That said, I also like to do “mini-meditations” throughout the day where I create moments (this can be as simple as 30 seconds or 5, 15 or 20 minutes), to stop what I am doing and use conscious breathing to help me relax my mind, become aware of my body and the energy flowing through my body, and use this time to drop deeply into the present moment. I also love to do a simple practice at the end of the evening when I lay down that helps me tune into gratitude and fill my body (and my mind) with love, joy and positive intentions.

Do you Meditate? Do you have a regular meditation practice?

With all that is occurring in our world, having tools that help us navigate these times consciously can be essential.

If you are new to meditation or don’t have a regular practice, below are a few ways you can get started, all of which I have used and found assistive.
